Un autre grand du reggae nous laisse prématurément: dans la nuit du samedi 10 Juillet à
l’University Hospital of the West Indies à St. Andrew, Sugar Minott nous a quittés.

Lincoln Barrington Minott, de son vrai nom, né à Kingston en 1956. Producteur, chanteur,
musicien, Sugar Minott fait ses premières armes dans le sound system avant de débuter au
sein du groupe African Brothers avec Tony Tuff et Derrick Howard.

A partir de 1974 il travaille pour Studio 1 et Clément Coxsone. En jamaique il crée son label
Black Roots il signe divers artistes, Junior Reid, Tony Tuff mais son plus grand hit fut de
produire le premier morceau de Garnet Silk. Il a travaillé avec les plus grands…

Leave out babylon son dernier album produit par Zenah music mash up di place.
